HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It is always interesting to me each year to see how our library has fared financially.
Though our budget is $1490, we usually spend over $5,000. This year was no exception. We spent almost $3,000 on books, about $220 on videos and DVDs, about $200 on computer related items, about $650 on equipment, and $840 on supplies. About $550 was spent on materials to support our reading program in the school, including computer tests. You might wonder how we can do this. Many of you have helped us. About $1150 was given toward Memorial Books. Birthday Books and other Honor Books paid us over $1650. The Book Fair earned us $487. The Marquis gave $500, their annual gift in memory of Carols parents, a gift that supports the purchase of books in our Crown Reading Program, much like the Bluebonnet Program in public schools.
You might say that our budget pays for equipment and supplies. Everything else is a product of your generosity. Thank you!
