SPECIAL NOTICE
The library will be open through the week until May 18th. Then it will be open on Tuesday mornings from 9:30-11:30 from May 29th through July 31st. Though there will be no formal library program, parents are encouraged to not only use the library themselves but also to get their children involved in summer reading. Of course, the library will continue to be open on Sunday mornings before and after Sunday School.
The honor system will also continue, whereby library customers may check out by signing the charge-out cards and placing them in the small basket on the library desk.
Our summer operation is all-volunteer and we are truly grateful for each and every one of these faithful volunteers.
As April comes on the scene, the library is adding many new books along with 70 new Scholastic Reading Counts tests. It is also the month that our boys and girls in the Academy will be looking forward to the Crown Election and Party. All our 2nd-6th graders who have read at least 5 Crown Books and passed tests on them will be eligible to vote and enjoy the party. They must have completed these by noon on the 24th. We will announce the names of those eligible on the 25th at Chapel. Then on the 26th at about 1:00 we'll have the election and party. It is a happy time. One of our children is striving to read all 20 Crown books (for upper grades) and win a medal. If that should happen she will be awarded that in Chapel on the 25th.
